Information we collect
We collect two kinds of information. First, information you choose to give us: when you submit a contact or inquiry form, we store the name, email address, phone number (if provided), the interest or subject you selected, and your message. Second, basic usage information collected automatically through Google Analytics, such as the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site (for example, from a search or an ad), your general location (city or region), and your device and browser type. See "Cookies and analytics" below. We do not require an account to use this site, and we do not ask for sensitive personal, medical, or financial details through our forms.
How we use it
Submissions are used solely to respond to you and to administer the support, volunteering, sponsorship, or gift you asked about. We may keep a record of your inquiry so we can follow up and maintain accurate organizational records. Usage information is used to understand how people find and use the site, to improve it, and to measure whether our Google Ads (provided free to nonprofits through the Google Ad Grants program) lead to donations and inquiries.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade donor or inquiry information. We do not share it with third parties except service providers that operate this website, our donation processing, and our analytics and ad measurement (Google), or where we are required to do so by law. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, or message to Google Analytics. When a form is sent, Google Analytics records only that a form was submitted, which form it was, and the topic you selected.
Donations
Online donations are processed by Givebutter. When you donate, your payment details are entered on Givebutter's secure platform — we never receive or store your card or bank information. Givebutter provides us with the donor name, contact details, and gift amount so we can acknowledge your gift and issue receipts. Givebutter's own privacy policy governs the information you provide on their pages. When you click from our donation page to Givebutter, a short Google Analytics code is added to the link so that your visit can be counted as one visit across both sites. Givebutter's pages also report to our Google Analytics that a donation was completed and its amount, never your card or bank details.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_7PPZYHYJSL) to tell visits apart and to recognize returning visitors; it does not tell us who you are. We link Google Analytics to our Google Ads account so we can see whether people who click our ads go on to donate, contact us, or sign up to help (this is called conversion measurement). We may also use this information to show our ads to people who have visited our site. We do not sell data to advertisers. Your options: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without losing access to any part of this site; you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits on any website; and you can manage how Google personalizes ads for you in Google Ad Settings.
Children's privacy
This website is directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children through this site. Families participating in our programs provide any needed information directly to us offline, under separate program paperwork.
Your choices
You may ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the information you submitted through this site. Email director@blakes-buddies.com and we will act on your request. If you receive email from us and no longer want it, tell us and we will remove you. To limit analytics on this site, see the options under "Cookies and analytics" above.
